The major traditional ceremonies marking entry into the Buddhist way of Awakening—Ojukai: transmitting the precepts—will take place from July 1 to 5, 2026. Minamisawa Dōnin Zenji, one of the highest authorities in Sōtō Zen, will travel from Japan despite being 99 years old and will be the master who transmits the precepts.
These ceremonies allow anyone who wishes to embrace the values of Buddhism. The practice of the Mind of Awakening enables us to face current problems with wisdom and compassion.
It is with great enthusiasm that we are embarking on preparations for this exceptional event: communication, organization, welcoming, major expansion works, landscaping and maintenance of green spaces, and also rehearsals for the ceremonies… all while continuing to host the retreats scheduled in our annual calendar.
If you are available, please feel free to come and help us throughout the year with these preparations—you don’t need any special skills.
You will be able to practice zazen (meditation) with the monks and nuns, receive teachings, and enjoy participating in this great project.
