Away from the dust of the social world, practicing meditation, ceremonies, eating meals in silence, receiving the teachings…

This retreat commemorates the entry into Nirvana of Shakyamuni Buddha.

* Retreat in japanese : sesshin, “to touch the mind”

  • Health regulations

Anyone coming to Kanshoji is asked to:
    - present their vaccination pass on arrival,
    - respect the barrier gestures, including the wearing of masks, within the monastery.
Concerning the wearing of the mask, we mainly wear it during the moments of meeting and exchange.
In particular we do not wear it during zazen (Zen meditation).

Due to the sanitary situation, it is no longer possible to stay in a dormitory. Everyone is accommodated in a single room, which reduces our accommodation capacity and therefore our financial resources. An average single rate is offered. Those with a small budget can ask for a reduction. Those with sufficient means can give more.

We apologize not being able to accept your payment by credit card.

  • During the retreat it is recommended to remain silent.

  • Arrival : Sunday February 6th between 3pm & 6pm.
Departure : Sunday February 13th after lunch.
If you have a kit of bowls, please bring them with you.
