A lot of people came to help out
during the fuse week in late September.
The harvest in the vegetable
garden took place in the silence of samu
in bright early autumn sunlight. The garden had never been as beautiful
as it was at the end of this week during which everyone had so
generously given time and energy.
Several projects were completed.
Insulating
and repainting the dojo: Given the rise in heating costs it was no
longer possible to practise in the dojo during the winter. New
insulation and the installment of a wood-burning stove will allow us to
practise there all year long and to eat and sleep there during the
training session this autumn.
Insulating the storeroom next to
the vegetable garden was necesary for safety reasons.
Each
of us was able to forget him/herself in the rhythm of life in the
monastery and the joy of shared work. A delightful moment to be
savoured on the Way.
