All those who live in the monastery together form a single body
in which each has a his or her own place. The desire to live like
a Buddha is the very reason for the monastery's existence. The
rules, along with daily practice, allow us to forget ourselves
at every moment. This practice of giving is a source of happiness.
The essence of the Buddha Way is to allow human beings to live
in harmony with one another. That is why the basic rule in the
monastery is to take others into account.
The first experience in the monastery begins with a period of
solitude, of turning inward, followed by a period of sharing with
the residents. A typical day begins with zazen in the morning
and ends with zazen in the evening. Between the two there are
ceremonies, meals taken together, the work necessary to keep the
monastery running, teaching, study, and encounters.
Two sorts of stays are possible:
1. Open to All periods
Come for a few days or a few weeks to discover the Buddha's teaching,
have a taste of life in the monastery, or simply make a retreat.

2. Intensive practice
Three months of living like a monk. This is reserved for those
who are strongly resolved to follow the Buddha Way as taught in
Soto Zen.
