Kanshoji is a temple of the Buddha Way, of the Soto Zen lineage transmitted in the West by Master Deshimaru.
In the heart of Périgord-Limousin National Park, overlooking a beautiful lake, surrounded by forests, it is located in a calm and natural setting which is ideal for the practice of the Buddha Way. To live in a Zen temple is to practise Buddha’s teaching in all actions of daily life.
Zen monk Taiun Jean-Pierre Faure is in charge of the teaching. It is possible to come and practise at Kanshoji, where sesshins organised by other dojos also take place as well as activities that are close to Zen in their orientation.
