| Receiving, transmitting
Two thousand six hundred years ago, in India,
Buddha Shakyamuni realised awakening, sitting in zazen under
the Bodhi tree. This practice has been transmitted since then
without interruption, from master to disciple, up until today.
Until his death in 1982, Master Deshimaru educated many disciples,
opened over a hundred dojos, created the International Zen
Association (IZA) and founded the temple of La Gendronnière
in the Loir-et-Cher department.
Taiun Jean-Pierre Faure, Head of Kanshoji monastery, met
Master Taisen Deshimaru some thirty years ago and became his
disciple. Twenty years after Master Deshimaru’s death, he
received the Dharma transmission from Donin Minamizawa Roshi.
